The SGAWC is dedicated to promoting the sport of Volksmarching and related social and athletic activities that foster friendship, peace and health, in the spirit of the Internationale Volkssportverband (IVV) and the Deutscher Volkssportverband (DVV).
Our organization offers people of all ages the opportunity to enjoy non-competitive, recreational outdoor activities without pressure to perform.
Our core mission is to enhance the morale and well-being of our members, while strengthening relations between the Stuttgart American Military community, our German hosts in Stuttgart and DVV organizations across Baden-Württemberg.

The SGAWC membership is open to a diverse community including U.S. active-duty military, retired military, civilian employees, contracted employees, U.S. citizens, local nationals and their accompanying dependent family members. Members are encouraged to bring guests to any SGAWC event.
Our 2026 membership dues are: 30 Euro per family or 20 Euro per single.
