37th International Volksmarch Stuttgart 2012

The Stuttgart German-American Wandering Club 1972 invites you to their 37th International Volksmarch in Stuttgart!

This is a public non-competitive walk for anyone - you will receive credit for the International IVV award.

Dates and times:

Saturday, 28 July 2012 - start times 1000 - 1500 hours, finish 1800 hours.

Sunday, 29 July 2012 - start times 0800 - 1300 hours, finish 1700 hours.

Location:

The start and finish is located at the Heinz-Glauner-Halle of TSV Heumaden, Kemnater Strasse 50, 70619 Stuttgart-Heumaden.

By public transportation - from the Stuttgart Main Station, take Stadtbahn U7 to Bockelstrasse (footpath to the start/finish is marked).

Trails:

6, 13 and 23 km trails are offered (pictures of the trail can be seen on this page). The 6 km-trail is flat and stroller-friendly.
The 13 km-trail is relativly flat, but has one steep slope and one steep incline.
The 23 km-trail is hilly and contains 3 steep slopes and 3 steep inclines. For the 13 and 23 km trail sturdy footwear is recommended!
It is up to each walker individually which trail he/she is capable of doing. Start/finish times are listed above. In order to receive your IVV credit, the walk should be done by the stated finish time. The trails are marked with colored tape and directional signs.

Food and beverages:

At the start/finish, there will be a small German-American fest. Food and beverages will be offered at reasonable prices. Snacks, medical assistance and free tea are provided at control points on the trails.

International IVV Award:

The event will be held in accordance with the guidelines of the German and International Federations of Popular Sports (DVV and IVV). Walkers may receive credit stamps for their IVV record books. Start cards are available at € 1.50 (€ 3.80 including medal: boot pin hat feather). The price of the start card includes third party liability and accident insurance on the trails.

Preregistration:

No preregistration is necessary. For better planning, however, preregistration is recommended for groups. (Prizes for all preregistered groups with 25+ walkers.)
